Junior Financial Analyst – Advanced Excel & Modeling

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Junior Financial Analyst to support Canadian retail banking operations. The role focuses on analyzing financial data, maintaining and updating models, and contributing to various projects within a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior management to implement updates to financial models.
• Maintain and update financial and data models to ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.
• Execute monthly roll‑overs, ensuring proper data ingestion and consistency.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare and update financial presentations for business reviews using PowerPoint.
• Collect, process, and analyze data to respond to inquiries from different business units.
• Perform investigations and provide timely support for day‑to‑day requests.
• Generate reports and retrieve information from models and databases to meet business requirements.
• Support ad‑hoc projects, including generating models and reports.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Investigative mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex functions).
• PowerPoint for creating financial presentations.
• Financial modeling and data analysis.
• High proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with PowerBI or SQL is a plus.
