Journeyman/Woman Plumber

About the role

The position involves installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing systems across domestic, commercial and industrial settings. The successful candidate will read blueprints, supervise apprentices and ensure projects meet quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing, water supply and drainage systems.
• Prepare tenders and quotations, and estimate costs and materials.
• Supervise apprentices and other workers, scheduling personnel, tools and equipment.
• Cut, thread, bend, and join pipes using couplings, clamps, soldering, brazing or welding.

Required profile

• College or CEGEP certificate/diploma (1‑2 years) in a plumbing program.
• 3 to less than 5 years of relevant plumbing experience.
• Plumber Trade Certification.
• Criminal record check and driving record check.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work in confined, wet/damp environments.

Required skills

• Read blueprints and specifications.
• Cut, thread and bend pipes to required shapes and sizes.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, soldering, brazing or welding equipment.
• Estimate costs and materials for plumbing projects.
• Supervise apprentices and coordinate work crews.
