Intermediate to Senior Piping Designer

About the role

CBCL is looking for an intermediate to senior Piping Designer to join its Industrial Mechanical Engineering team in Fredericton, NB. The role involves delivering concept‑to‑completion designs for industrial mechanical and piping systems while supporting sustainable engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, preliminary and detailed 2D/3D CAD models and drawing packages for process piping, storage tanks, compressed‑gas and boiler systems.
• Produce general arrangement drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, fabrication and installation details.
• Coordinate project models with engineers, project managers and construction teams, and resolve design comments.
• Maintain drawing registers, title blocks and project file organization in line with internal standards.
• Support field work, including verification, redlines, as‑built updates and incorporation of site measurements.
• Assist with quantity take‑offs and preparation of construction/fabrication packages.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Design or equivalent experience.
• Intermediate to senior‑level experience on industrial mechanical or piping projects in plant/operations or consulting environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time‑sensitive deadlines.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to job sites.
