Infrastructure Patching Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Hybrid (Toronto)

About the role

Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is seeking experienced Infrastructure Patching Subject Matter Experts to join a hybrid contract team in Toronto. The role focuses on planning, executing, and supporting patching activities across multiple infrastructure towers, including Linux, Windows, network, storage, SQL and Oracle environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate patch deployments in production and non‑production environments.
• Assess patch requirements, risks, dependencies and define implementation steps.
• Troubleshoot patch failures and support remediation activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application and operations teams to ensure successful patch execution.
• Maintain accurate patching documentation, status updates and operational reporting.
• Support vulnerability remediation initiatives and compliance‑driven patch cycles.
• Participate in maintenance windows and change‑management processes as needed.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in infrastructure support, administration, patching or remediation.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following towers: Linux, Windows, network, storage, SQL or Oracle.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments, preferably financial services.
• Strong understanding of patch management, vulnerability remediation and change management processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple technical teams.
• Availability to work on‑site in Toronto three days per week.
