Industrial Maintenance Millwright

About the role

O-I, a global manufacturer of glass packaging for food and beverage brands, is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Millwright in Brampton. The millwright performs pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical repairs and maintenance on plant equipment, and works 12-hour continental rotating shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, assemble and maintain plant machinery, equipment and structures
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, and use blueprints, shop handbooks, layouts and other specifications to plan materials and procedures
• Weld, braid, scrape, solder and cut metals for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components
• Carry out routine maintenance and safety checks, and determine causes of breakdowns
• Prepare and submit maintenance reports

Required profile

• High school degree or GED
• Industrial Mechanic Millwright 433a Red Seal certificate
• 5 years of related work experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
• Able to read, write and communicate in English
• Able to lift and manipulate heavy equipment and to work 12-hour shifts
• Authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis

Required skills

• Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial machinery
• Reading blueprints, diagrams and drawings
• Basic computer knowledge for entering preventive maintenance activities
• Use of hand tools and power tools
