Ice Maintenance Person (Ticketed)

About the role

The Ice Maintenance Person ensures the ice surfaces at Canlan Sports facilities are kept in optimal condition for safe and enjoyable play. This hands‑on role involves operating specialized equipment, performing routine upkeep, and supporting overall facility cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the Ice Resurfacer and Edger to flood, smooth, and finish ice surfaces.
• Measure ice depth, chop/spud, level, and paint ice as required.
• Repair dasher board systems, replace arena glass, and refurbish hockey nets.
• Conduct janitorial duties, including vacuuming, auto‑scrubbing, waxing, and floor care.
• Maintain grounds, perform grass cutting, and remove seasonal snow and debris.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment, including safety checks, blade changes, and greasing.
• Complete required checklists, records, and equipment sign‑out logs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (preferred) and Ice Facility Operators (IFO) Certificate.
• Experience operating ice resurfacing equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible evenings and weekends.
• Team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
