Civil Technologist – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Binnie is seeking a Civil Technologist to join its Infrastructure Langley division, supporting municipal capital projects. You will work alongside experienced project managers, designers, and engineers, gaining hands‑on experience from design through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site inspection duties and document findings.
• Coordinate and communicate with external stakeholders in consultation with the project team.
• Prepare AutoCAD and Civil 3D designs, drawings, and design calculations.
• Conduct quality control checks on CAD and Civil 3D work according to Binnie’s Quality Management Program.
• Prepare documentation for design folders and reports.
• Calculate material quantities and assist in cost estimate preparation.
• Support the preparation of project specifications and contract documents.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in a civil consulting engineering environment.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
• Eligibility to register as a Trainee Registrant with ASTTBC or as a Technician/Technologist‑in‑Training with ASET within three months of hire.
• Valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle preferred.
• Willingness to work outdoors on‑site as required.
