Asphalt Plant Operator – Full‑time Permanent

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Asphalt Plant Operator to run our industrial plant in Langley, BC. The role involves operating heavy, computer‑controlled equipment to produce asphalt for road construction while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy and computer‑controlled equipment, including hydraulic pumping systems.
• Conduct pre‑operational checks, clean, lubricate, and perform minor repairs on machinery.
• Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure distance, volume, length and weight; inspect scales and meters.
• Maintain production and shift logs, complete onboard and accident reports.
• Load and off‑load machines, secure special attachments, and operate two‑way radios.
• Handle and store hazardous chemicals safely, following MSDS guidelines.
• Perform routine quality‑control inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years experience in material handling or road‑construction environments.
• Physically demanding work; ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, dusty conditions.
• Willingness to undergo criminal record check, medical exam and drug test.
• Availability for shift or on‑call work and ability to start on the posted date.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
