Drywall Installer – Commercial & Residential Projects

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team in Calgary, working on both commercial and residential projects. The role involves preparing, installing, and finishing drywall and plaster surfaces in various settings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs.
• Apply successive coats of joint compound, sand seams, and finish corners using metal corner beads.
• Mix plaster ingredients, apply, level and smooth plaster coats, and install ornamental plaster panels.
• Install steel studs, vapour barriers, thermal and sound insulation, and work at heights on scaffolding.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of drywall installation experience.
• Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg, bend, crouch, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Reliability, flexibility, good judgement and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Drywall sheet measurement, cutting and installation.
• Application and finishing of plaster and joint compound.
• Installation of metal corner beads and steel studs.
• Operation of taping machines and use of trowels.
• Mixing plaster to desired consistency.
