Human Resources & Labour Relations Manager

About the role

Agropur is looking for a Human Resources & Labour Relations Manager for its Saint-Laurent and Ottawa sites. The role is a recognised leadership position covering all human resources activities, acting as a coach and strategic partner to leadership teams and Human Capital Business Partners.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a key member of site leadership teams and influence human capital decisions
• Supervise, support and develop the Human Capital Business Partner, and coach the wider Human Capital team
• Implement the Human Capital strategic action plan across the supported sites
• Take part in large projects affecting employees and ensure effective change management
• Lead labour relations, including interpreting collective agreements, policies, laws and regulations
• Work with Human Capital Centres of Expertise such as Labour Relations, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Health and Wellness, Organizational Development and Talent Management
• Contribute to organizational development, performance management, succession planning and continuous improvement
• Promote a positive health and safety culture and support return-to-work cases

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or a related field
• Eight to ten years of experience as an HR generalist, ideally in a unionized, multi-site manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of employment and labour laws and regulations
• Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic partner, coach and change agent
• Bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written; French is required for Quebec positions
• Professional certification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations is an asset

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Labour relations and collective agreement interpretation
