Human Resources Generalist

About the role

Join a well‑established electrical contractor in the western Greater Toronto Area as an HR Generalist. You will work alongside a fractional HR Director, providing hands‑on, people‑focused support to a growing team of roughly 120 employees, including skilled trades, project managers, and technical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle recruitment for field, technical, and office positions.
• Support employee relations and performance‑management initiatives.
• Interpret and administer a union collective agreement.
• Implement HR programs, policies, and best practices.
• Coordinate onboarding, training, and employee development activities.
• Maintain HRIS data, HR records, and ensure compliance with employment legislation.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or Senior HR Coordinator.
• Background in construction, electrical contracting, industrial, manufacturing, or similar skilled‑trades environments.
• Exposure to unionized workplaces and collective agreements is an asset.
• Strong recruitment and relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent communication, organization, and sound judgment.
• Practical, approachable style with a willingness to roll up sleeves.
