Human Resources Coordinator

About the role
Our client, a well‑established luxury fashion retailer in Montreal, is seeking a proactive Human Resources Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day HR administration while supporting recruitment, employee relations and compliance. The role combines operational HR tasks with a focus on Quebec labour standards and offers the chance to work in a fast‑paced retail environment.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate full recruitment cycles: post vacancies, screen candidates, schedule interviews and support onboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee files, HR records and confidential documentation.
- Prepare employment letters, contracts and other HR‑related paperwork.
- Serve as first point of contact for employee inquiries on policies, benefits and procedures.
- Assist with benefits administration, vacation tracking, leave management and employee updates.
- Update and ensure data accuracy in the HRIS.
- Support performance review cycles, probation follow‑ups and development initiatives.
- Help develop, implement and communicate HR policies and procedures.
- Provide support for employee relations matters while preserving confidentiality.
- Coordinate training sessions and employee engagement activities.
- Ensure compliance with CNESST regulations, Quebec labour standards and assist with Ontario/U.S. employment matters when required.
- Maintain organized records for audits and compliance reviews.
Required profile
- 2–5 years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of CNESST and Quebec labour standards (required).
- Familiarity with Ontario employment legislation and exposure to U.S. employment practices (assets).
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field.
- Fully bilingual in French and English.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
Required skills
- HRIS (experience with HR information systems).
