Human Resources Advisor

About the role

Elk Valley Resources (EVR), a steelmaking coal producer operating four mines in the Elk Valley of British Columbia, is hiring an Advisor, Human Resources. Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Human Resources, the role leads and assists with a broad range of HR services, supports internal operations and builds relationships with employees across departments and levels. The position suits someone flexible and calm who can handle tight deadlines and change, with broad HR experience and a high standard of integrity and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in and follow health and safety programs and policies
• Coach and support employees and supervisors on career development, compensation, recruiting, performance management and employee relations
• Handle labour relations issues and investigate employee relations matters, keeping confidentiality, consistency and sensitivity
• Support the disability management process
• Support the People Central Performance and Development programs and the Human Resources Information System
• Produce regular and ad hoc reports on HR metrics
• Run supervisor development workshops on HR topics

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent
• Minimum six years of human resources experience
• Experience in a unionized work environment is an asset
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence or equivalent
