About the role
The People Leader – Field Operations provides comprehensive HR support for airport environments, acting as a trusted partner to Operations leadership. Based in Montreal (YUL) with oversight of Ottawa (YOW), the role ensures execution of HR programs, employee relations, labor compliance, and talent initiatives across two sites.
Key responsibilities
- Lead employee‑relations activities, including investigations, grievance handling, disciplinary processes and resolution of complex issues.
- Partner with Operations leaders on workforce planning, performance management and organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor agreements and corporate policies.
- Support recruitment and staffing in collaboration with Corporate Talent Acquisition.
- Administer performance‑management, succession planning and talent‑development initiatives.
- Provide guidance on compensation, benefits and HR programs aligned with corporate standards.
- Serve as liaison between airport leadership and Corporate HR to execute HR strategy consistently.
- Support labor‑relations activities, including union interactions, contract administration and grievance processes.
- Track and analyse HR metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of HR generalist experience; HR leadership experience strongly preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting a unionized workforce.
- Experience in fast‑paced, multi‑unit environments such as hospitality, food service or retail is a plus.
- Fluent verbal and written communication in French and English.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations and HR compliance.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and travel regularly between Montreal and Ottawa.

What we offer
- Competitive salary range $85,000‑$95,000 CAD per year.
- Full‑time, exempt position with on‑site presence at two airport locations.
