Housing Support Worker (Casual, Overnight & Weekends)

About the role

We are looking for compassionate individuals to join our Interchange team in Chilliwack, providing overnight and weekend support to residents in a trauma‑informed, faith‑based housing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and foster a supportive atmosphere.
• Provide day‑to‑day engagement and crisis support, including de‑escalating conflicts.
• Monitor safety, respond to emergencies, and maintain a clean, structured living environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with the team.
• Uphold the organization’s values of Grace, Hope, and Trust in all interactions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 required; post‑secondary education in social services or equivalent experience preferred.
• First Aid certification (can be obtained after hire) and NVCI or similar training is an asset.
• Experience working with addiction recovery, mental health, or vulnerable populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to set emotional boundaries.
• Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check required; Class 5 driver’s licence preferred.
• Availability for evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
