Front Desk Attendant

About the role

Ruth & Naomi's Mission is seeking warm, dependable, and professional Front Desk Attendants to join the team at the Family Centre. As the first point of contact for residents, program participants, visitors, community partners, and guests, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome residents, participants, visitors, and community partners with professionalism and respect
• Manage front desk operations, access control, phone calls, and visitor check‑ins
• Monitor building activity and respond calmly to safety concerns and incidents
• Apply de‑escalation techniques to help maintain a safe environment
• Complete incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor CCTV systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area and common spaces
• Support staff and participants with day‑to‑day operational needs

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a front desk, client support, security, or community services role
• Experience working with vulnerable populations is highly preferred
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• Strong observation, problem‑solving, and documentation skills
• First Aid, de‑escalation, and Naloxone training (or willingness to obtain)
• A compassionate, respectful, and team‑oriented approach

What we offer

• $22.15 per hour
• Additional $1.20/hour overnight shift differential when applicable
