Host Ambassador – Community Outreach

About the role

The Host Ambassador supports the Canada Homestay Network by qualifying new and existing host families, ensuring they meet the organization’s standards of care. This hybrid position involves in‑person visits in the Lambton Kent area and remote administrative work.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person interviews and home visits for new hosts and revisits for existing hosts to verify standards.
• Enter interview data, criminal record checks, host agreements and other documentation into the CHN system.
• Field inquiries from prospective hosts and guide them through the application and onboarding process.
• Attend community events representing CHN and promote the host program.

Required profile

• Excellent sales and interpersonal abilities with a focus on promoting the CHN host program.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s licence, vehicle insurance (minimum $2 million), a mobile phone, digital camera and high‑speed internet access.
• Willingness to undergo criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with email clients or webmail for data entry and communication.
• Effective business writing and attention to detail for documentation.

What we offer

• Hourly wage between $18 and $20 CAD.
• Part‑time permanent role (up to 20 hours per week) with hybrid work flexibility.
