Hospitalist Physician (Full‑time, Part‑time or Locum)

About the role

Delta Hospital is seeking qualified physicians to join its Hospitalist program on a permanent, part‑time, full‑time or locum basis. The role focuses on delivering acute‑care hospital medicine, admitting and managing patients as the Most Responsible Physician, and collaborating with an inter‑professional team of medical and allied health staff. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the evolving specialty of hospital medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Admit and manage acute medical patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP), overseeing their care throughout the hospital stay.
• Provide 24‑hour coverage through 10‑hour daytime shifts, 8‑hour evening admission shifts, and rotating 9‑hour overnight call shifts, including virtual call from home.
• Utilize remote access to deliver up to 20 % of patient care from home, supporting the virtual call and tele‑medicine components of the service.

Required profile

• License (or eligibility) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
• CCFP (or equivalent) credentials; hospitalist experience is strongly preferred.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Required skills
