Hospitalist – Acute Care Physician

About the role

Delta Hospital is seeking qualified physicians to join its Hospitalist program on a permanent part‑time, full‑time, or locum basis. The role focuses on acute care, admitting and managing medical patients as the Most Responsible Physician while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Admit and manage acute medical patients as the Most Responsible Physician.
• Provide 24‑hour coverage through a mix of daytime, evening, and rotating overnight call shifts.
• Participate in a team of four hospitalists during daytime and one during evenings, with an average census of 58 patients.
• Handle virtual overnight calls from home, with up to 20% of patient care delivered remotely.

Required profile

• License (or eligibility) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
• CCFP (or equivalent) credential.
• Hospitalist experience strongly suggested.
• Commitment to the evolving specialty of hospital medicine.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).

• Compensation through a physician master agreement with an Alternative Payment Plan (Virtual Call/MOCAP).
