About the role

Fraser Health is seeking dedicated physicians to join the Hospitalist Program at Burnaby Hospital. The role involves acting as the Most Responsible Physician for unattached patients and providing supportive care across surgical, medical specialty, and psychiatric services.

Key responsibilities

• Admit and manage patients as the Most Responsible Physician.
• Provide supportive care for surgical, medical specialty, and psychiatric patients.
• Participate in intake shifts in the Emergency Department, including evenings, weekends, and night shifts.
• Contribute to committee work, quality‑improvement initiatives, and administrative duties.
• Share weekend coverage on a rotating basis (approximately one in three weekends).

Required profile

• Medical licensure and eligibility to practice in British Columbia.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication abilities.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with an inter‑professional team.
• Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Experience in hospitalist work is an asset but not mandatory.
