Hospitalist (Acute Care Physician)

About the role

Fraser Health is looking for dedicated physicians to join the hospital medicine program at Eagle Ridge Hospital. The role focuses on acute care hospital practice, working closely with an inter‑professional team to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Admit and manage patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP).
• Provide supportive care for surgical and specialty medical patients.
• Work independently while accessing off‑site specialty support by phone.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and allied health staff.
• Coordinate discharge planning and community‑based follow‑up.
• Participate in overnight coverage on a schedule proportional to weeks worked.

Required profile

• Hospitalist experience, fellowship training, or membership in professional hospital medicine societies.
• Rural medicine experience is an asset.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.
• Strong bedside manner and ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
