Home Support Worker – Personal Care & Companion

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Home Support Worker to join our team in Toronto on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role involves providing bedside and personal care, companionship, and light household assistance to elderly clients in their own homes. You will help maintain a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for each client.

Key responsibilities

• Administer bedside and personal care, including hygiene assistance.
• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Support regular exercise such as walking.
• Feed or assist with feeding, and prepare nutritious meals.
• Launder clothing and household linens.
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Monitor client’s health status and report changes to supervisor.
• Assist with medication reminders (non‑administration).
• Maintain accurate daily activity logs.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and non‑smoking environment.

Required profile

• High school graduation certificate.
• 1‑6 months of home‑care experience.
• Ability to pass a criminal record check.
• Willingness to relocate within the region.
• Physical ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Personal qualities: punctual, dependable, patient, flexible, client‑focused.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and families.
• Ability to work independently and follow care plans.
