Health & Safety Coordinator – Contract (16 months)

About the role

The City of Woodstock is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Coordinator to lead occupational health and safety training and awareness initiatives across the municipality for a 16‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, coordinate and facilitate a variety of occupational health and safety training sessions.
• Administer corporate core orientation elements, including Health & Safety awareness, WHMIS, Driver Awareness, and Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention.
• Maintain training records, ensure compliance with provincial health and safety legislation, and provide guidance to staff on safe work practices.
• Collaborate with the Human Resources department and line managers to identify training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in occupational health and safety or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian WHMIS regulations and workplace violence/harassment prevention standards.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for delivering training to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• WHMIS certification or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience delivering Health & Safety awareness training.
• Driver Awareness training delivery.
• Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention training.
