Head of Cyber Defence & Incident Response

About the role

Quadient is looking for a senior leader to own and evolve its cyber‑defence capability across a hybrid on‑prem and cloud environment. Reporting to the CISO, you will direct security monitoring, detection, response and recovery while aligning with the broader crisis‑management framework.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full incident‑response lifecycle (prepare, detect, analyse, contain, eradicate, recover) and maintain playbooks, tooling and decision processes.
• Act as incident commander, coordinating stakeholder communication, forensic triage and recovery.
• Manage the MSSP relationship end‑to‑end, including service definitions, SLAs/KPIs, escalation paths and continuous improvement.
• Optimise security monitoring and response tooling (SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, NDR, email security) across technology teams.
• Lead the vulnerability‑management programme for on‑prem and cloud assets, ensuring coverage, prioritisation, remediation SLAs and executive reporting.
• Operationalise threat intelligence into detection use‑cases, hardening actions and proactive hunting.
• Drive continuous improvement of the defence stack by rationalising tools, tuning detections and expanding automation.
• Establish and run a hypothesis‑driven threat‑hunting programme and conduct regular tabletop exercises.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading cyber‑defence operations and incident‑response teams in a hybrid environment.
• Strong track record managing MSSP relationships and security‑tooling portfolios.
• Ability to translate threat intelligence into actionable defensive priorities.

Required skills

• SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, NDR, email security solutions.
• Vulnerability scanning and management tools.
• Threat intelligence platforms and threat‑hunting methodologies.
• Incident‑response frameworks and playbook development.
• Experience with MSSP governance, SLAs and KPI monitoring.
