Senior Kernel Developer - RTOS

About the role

Huawei Canada’s Intelligent Real‑Time Operating System Lab is seeking a Senior Kernel Developer to advance real‑time OS research and development for embedded, cloud, virtualized and automotive platforms. The role focuses on designing, integrating and optimizing kernel components to support high‑performance, concurrent workloads in mixed‑criticality environments.

Key responsibilities

• Explore real‑time OS research and development targeting embedded devices, cloud/virtualized computing, and automotive domains.
• Contribute to building next‑generation OS technology that powers a broad range of compute platforms.
• Solve challenging problems related to scheduling, resource allocation, isolation and inter‑process communication in complex use cases.
• Develop tooling and solutions to address performance challenges within the system.

Required profile

• Expert‑level experience in real‑time operating system design, development and integration.
• Strong system software development expertise, primarily in C/C++.
• Deep knowledge of CPU architecture for system software development.
• Ability to research complex topics, distill them into concrete designs, and apply them to projects.
• Excellent communication skills to document and present technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
