Head Chef – Filipino Cuisine

About the role

Tinuno Foods is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead its kitchen team in Toronto. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality Filipino cuisine for daily service, special events, and client‑specific functions while maintaining strict cost and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff.
• Instruct and supervise a team of over 20 cooks and kitchen personnel.
• Prepare and cook meals for regular service and special guests, including weddings and banquets.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies and consult with clients on menu planning.
• Plan menus, ensure food quality, and train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in Filipino cuisine.
• Proven leadership, dependability, and strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle physically demanding tasks.
