Head Baker

About the role

Elsafadi Supermarket is looking for an experienced Head Baker to lead its large‑volume bakery department. You will be responsible for producing high‑quality breads, rolls, pastries and desserts while ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare doughs, batters and icings according to recipes and special customer orders.
• Order and manage bakery supplies, equipment and raw materials.
• Supervise and train a team of 3‑4 baking staff, schedule shifts and oversee performance.
• Develop production schedules, monitor inventory and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure all baked goods meet quality and food‑safety standards.
• Operate and maintain bakery machinery, inspect kitchen areas and enforce safety protocols.
• Handle hiring, dismissals and staff evaluations.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales of baked products within the supermarket.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 3–5 years of experience in a high‑volume bakery environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Team‑player with reliability, patience and good judgement.

Required skills

• Experience operating large‑scale bakery equipment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ability to manage inventory and production planning.
