About the role
Join Hy Hope Farm as a Harvesting Labourer working outdoors on a mixed fruit and vegetable operation. You will contribute to the efficient collection, sorting and preparation of a wide range of crops for market.
Key responsibilities
- Apply hoeing techniques between rows and cut agricultural crops.
- Hand‑pick vegetables, pack fruits and vegetables, and sort produce into marketable and non‑marketable lots.
- Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock and poultry.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, fruit and vegetable harvesters, loaders and farm trucks.
- Examine product quality and prepare daily progress reports.
Required profile
- Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
- Flexibility, organization, reliability and strong work ethic.
Required skills
- Experience with farm truck operation.
- Use of fruit harvester and vegetable harvester equipment.
- Operation of loaders and tractors.
- Proficiency with hand tools for pruning and shaping trees.
