Geotechnical Mud Rotary Driller – Training Position

About the role

Join Mud Bay Drilling, a trusted leader in geotechnical, environmental and exploration drilling since 1972. As a Geotechnical Mud Rotary Driller in training, you will operate heavy drilling equipment, perform routine maintenance and support engineers and technicians on a variety of field projects.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate mud rotary drilling rigs, sampling systems and geophysical instruments following company procedures.
• Assist engineers and technicians with data collection and in‑situ testing.
• Mobilise and demobilise equipment in remote or hard‑to‑access locations.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Report safety incidents, near‑misses and equipment issues promptly.

Required profile

• Strong safety mindset and commitment to Mud Bay Drilling’s safety culture.
• Ability to multi‑task efficiently in demanding field environments.
• Willingness to learn and progress toward a lead driller role.
• Good communication skills for reporting observations to supervisors.
