General Manager, Real Estate

About the role

The General Manager, Real Estate provides strategic and operational leadership for one of Canada’s largest and most complex real‑estate portfolios, supporting a national retail and delivery network of over 1,700 owned and managed properties.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term real‑estate strategies, capital plans, investment portfolios and property‑management programmes.
• Lead acquisitions, dispositions, leasing activities and major infrastructure projects.
• Oversee a national team responsible for planning, development, construction, facilities support, environmental stewardship and portfolio optimisation.
• Foster partnerships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, municipalities, industry partners and service providers.

Required profile

• Seasoned real‑estate executive with extensive experience leading large‑scale property‑management, infrastructure and facilities portfolios in complex, multi‑site organisations.
• Proven track record of developing enterprise‑wide real‑estate strategies, managing significant capital investments and delivering measurable asset value.
• Inclusive, collaborative leader skilled at building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and influencing at the executive level.
• Strong communication, sound judgment and commitment to service, integrity and continuous improvement.
