General Maintenance Electrical / Mechanical

About the role

The General Maintenance Electrical / Mechanical technician will join a manufacturing team to ensure reliable operation of plant equipment. Reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, you will support both electrical and mechanical systems, helping to minimise downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and assist in preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Work with and guide external contractors as needed.
• Program, test and troubleshoot in‑plant PLCs.
• Dismantle, clean, re‑assemble and fabricate parts for equipment overhauls.
• Identify and correct machine or process issues to sustain production.
• Report equipment defects to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
• Participate in workplace safety initiatives and comply with health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• College diploma in Electro‑Mechanical (Robotics) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial electrician experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and pump/compressor systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours and provide on‑call support.
• Fluent English, punctual and eager to learn.
