General Duty Nurse (N2) – Medicine

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will join the Medicine Clinical Teaching Unit at the Health Sciences Centre, providing professional nursing care to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the RN will deliver independent nursing services, administer prescribed treatments, and lead within the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely.
• Lead and coordinate the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all unit, regional, and provincial policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold the organization’s vision and values.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
• Completion of a 12‑hour EKG monitoring course within 6‑12 months of hire.
• CPR certification in accordance with employer policy.
• Previous telemetry experience preferred.
• Active participation in professional nursing associations is an asset.
