Fullstack Developer (Java & React) – Remote

About the role

Veem is seeking a Fullstack Developer with a strong backend focus to help build and scale its core global payments platform. The role is fully remote within the EST time zone in Canada and offers the chance to work on high‑throughput, transaction‑heavy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, distributed SaaS applications using Java.
• Develop high‑performance backend services that support transaction‑heavy workloads.
• Contribute to frontend features with React when needed, ensuring seamless user experiences.
• Design and implement API‑first integrations with external partners and third‑party systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams, participate in code reviews, and influence architecture decisions.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience with Java as a core language.
• Proven full‑stack experience, preferably with React on the frontend.
• Background building distributed systems and enterprise SaaS applications.
• Experience working on transaction‑heavy or high‑throughput environments.
