Full-time Emergency Physician – Royal Columbian & Eagle Ridge Hospitals

About the role

Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) are seeking full‑time Emergency Physicians to join the Columbia Emergency Physicians Association. The position involves approximately 13 shifts per month across two high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency departments serving the Fraser Health region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to adult, pediatric, and trauma patients.
• Participate in teaching activities, including faculty appointments, resident supervision, and medical student education.
• Engage in research, quality‑improvement projects, and departmental leadership initiatives.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Required profile

• CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM) certification and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• PALS or APLS certification obtained within the past five years.
• ABEM certification is also acceptable.
• Experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency department, preferably with trauma and pediatric exposure.

Required skills

• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or equivalent trauma certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS).
• Clinical expertise in emergency medicine, trauma care, and pediatric emergency.
