Foot Care Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Foot Care Nurse to join a Retirement Home & Long Term Care facility in Brantford, Ontario. The nurse will provide specialized foot care services to residents, ensuring assessments, treatment plans, and documentation meet regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver foot care procedures based on resident needs and prior assessments.
• Conduct initial and follow‑up assessments in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
• Develop individualized treatment and management plans and record progress notes in the facility’s health record system.
• Maintain accurate foot‑care documentation in resident charts using the format recommended by the facility.
• Apply approved cleaning and sterilisation techniques for all instruments and tools.
• Follow infection‑control best practices as defined by regulatory bodies such as the CNO, Health Canada, and PIDAC.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to suggest appropriate treatments and ensure best‑practice interventions.

Required profile

• Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Basic or advanced foot‑care certification.
• Professional liability insurance and personal foot‑care tools/cleaning supplies.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a long‑term care setting is an asset.
• Current vulnerable sector police check and up‑to‑date TB immunisation record.
