About the role
The Flying Pig is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure quality and safety, and lead a team of food preparation staff in Vancouver.
Key responsibilities
- Establish work schedules and coordinate staff activities.
- Supervise preparation, portioning, and assembly of food trays.
- Train staff on job duties, sanitation and safety procedures.
- Estimate ingredient and supply needs and prepare budgets.
- Hire and manage food service staff.
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
- Address customer complaints and ensure quality control standards.
- Prepare food order summaries for the chef.
- Supervise and check assembly of trays.
- Maintain sanitation and safety compliance.
- Prepare and submit operational reports.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
- 1 to less than 2 years of relevant experience in food service supervision.
- Recognized employer under government programs.
- Support for newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition.
- Provides cultural competency training for Indigenous workers and awareness training for youth.
