Financial Accountant

About the role

House of Wilson (HOW) is a private family office in Vancouver seeking a Financial Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting across multiple entities. Reporting to the Senior Accountant and Controller, you will play a key role in month‑end close, financial reporting, and investment accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for several entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain supporting working papers.
• Own day‑to‑day accounting activities and contribute to month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Maintain data integrity in Sage 300 and other systems; serve as backup for accounts payable.
• Assist with budgeting, net‑worth updates, and ensure consistency of reporting deliverables.
• Reconcile investment statements to the general ledger and prepare related journal entries.
• Support special projects, process improvements, system upgrades, audit, and tax documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting.
• Working toward or recently obtained an accounting designation.
• 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with Sage 300 accounting software.
• Familiarity with Beanworks or other AP automation tools.
