About the role
The Film and Events Coordinator supports UBC’s Film and Events Office by managing outdoor event and filming requests from faculty, staff, students, and external groups. The role ensures compliance with university policies while protecting UBC’s interests and reputation.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate, review, and coordinate all outdoor event and filming requests on campus.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders, municipal officials, emergency services, and external requestors to ensure smooth execution.
- Assess film scripts for alignment with UBC mandates, scope, and footprint.
- Manage competing uses of public spaces to minimize campus disruption.
- Maintain records and reports for the Film and Events Manager.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of university policies and public‑space management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
- Ability to assess scripts and production plans for compliance.
- Organizational skills to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
