About the role
Kingstonist is a community‑driven news site covering arts, culture, environment, food, and events in Kingston, Ontario. We are looking for a motivated Journalism Intern to support our editorial team, produce accurate stories, and gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced media environment.
Key responsibilities
- Work independently and meet deadlines while taking direction from the Editor‑in‑Chief.
- Attend local events and travel within the market to gather news content.
- Conduct interviews, observations and research to develop story ideas.
- Produce written articles and assist with audio, video, or photographic coverage.
- Uphold impartiality and professional ethics in all interactions.
Required profile
- Current or recently completed studies in Journalism or a related field.
- Familiarity with Canadian Press style and strong interviewing and writing abilities.
- Ability to work flexibly, communicate effectively, and represent Kingstonist responsibly.
