Field Superintendent – Construction & Mechanical Projects

About the role

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to lead contractor activities on mining, energy and heavy‑industrial projects. You will ensure work is performed safely, to high quality standards and in line with contract requirements while coordinating closely with operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor safety compliance and enforce all safety program requirements.
• Develop, review and approve detailed work plans using work‑face planning processes.
• Supervise direct field labour on mechanical and piping scopes, ensuring safe and quality execution.
• Inspect completed work, identify deficiencies and manage corrective actions.
• Track schedule and productivity, collaborating with contractors and operations to resolve issues.
• Validate and approve daily labour, equipment and material reports submitted by contractors.
• Coordinate field activities between contractors and the operations team as needed.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in a similar field superintendent role.
• Journeyperson status in Electrical/Instrumentation or Mechanical trades.
• Supervisor training and a valid First Aid certificate.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Extensive experience with multi‑discipline mechanical work, including equipment and piping.
• Background in brown‑field construction environments.
