HVAC & Plumber Technician – Relocation to Saskatoon

About the role

Black & McDonald is seeking an experienced Service HVAC technician to join our Service Division in Saskatoon, SK. The role involves working on RTU/HVAC systems, chillers and smaller refrigeration systems, providing troubleshooting, repair and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems, inspecting components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, troubleshooting, refrigerant recovery, and electrical/gas system diagnostics.
• Maintain daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and other service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems and complete required paperwork.
• Conduct safety inspections, ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HVAC technician with HVAC certification.
• Braising and soldering skills and knowledge of local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills; physically fit to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in extreme weather.
• Clean Class 5 SK driver’s licence and clean driving abstract.
