HVAC Technician

About the role

Black & McDonald is seeking an experienced Service HVAC Technician to join its Service Division in Saskatoon, SK. The role involves installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing RTU/HVAC and related refrigeration systems while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems, inspecting compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, troubleshooting, refrigerant recovery and electrical/gas system diagnostics.
• Maintain daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports and other service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems and complete required paperwork.
• Conduct safety inspections, use personal protective equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HVAC/Refrigeration or RTU technician.
• Valid HVAC certification and brazing/soldering skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes and advanced mechanical diagnostic abilities.
• Physically fit, able to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in extreme weather.
• Clean Class 5 SK driver’s licence.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check and professional reference check.
