Field Service Technician

About the role

Toromont Cat is seeking a Field Service Technician to join its Fredericton team. You will travel in a service truck to customer sites, delivering expert service and support for Caterpillar equipment while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations across Eastern Canada to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment.
• Use Caterpillar testing equipment to identify mechanical problems and perform repairs within established time standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure all work complies with safety and environmental policies.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with customers through regular on‑site visits and clear communication.

Required profile

• Valid technician licence that meets provincial regulations.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience repairing and servicing heavy equipment in both shop and field environments.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar systems, especially ET and SIS, is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence (DZ licence preferred) and a clean driving record.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Caterpillar diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of Cat ET and SIS system functionalities.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities for heavy machinery.
