FCAW Welder – Afternoon Shift

About the role

Armstrong Fluid Technology is seeking an experienced FCAW welder for the afternoon shift to join its Operations team in Scarborough, Ontario. The role focuses on the fabrication and welding of metal pressure vessels, ensuring high‑quality production in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations in an industrial setting.
• Read, interpret and apply blueprints, work instructions and welding procedures.
• Prepare material surfaces and operate welding equipment to perform Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) in the horizontal (2G) position.
• Mark, record and report material defects as required.
• Utilize overhead and jib cranes and other lifting devices for material handling.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ASME standards and ability to work to CWB/CSA W47 specifications.
• Proficiency with SMAW, GMAW and SAW welding processes.
• Knowledge of plasma and oxy‑acetylene cutting techniques.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and blueprints.
• Physical capability to stand, bend, squat and lift up to 60 lb.
• Strong verbal communication in English.
