Factory Maintenance & Operations Manager

About the role

The Factory Maintenance & Operations Manager ensures that maintenance activities protect employee health, product safety and the environment while driving plant performance and business objectives. This role is a key member of the factory management team based onsite in Toronto.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input to the Management Team on site policies, goals and objectives.
• Develop, implement and coordinate the capital budget for equipment and facility improvements.
• Manage plant energy costs, research and implement projects to reduce energy consumption.
• Oversee the capital project process from request through design and implementation.
• Lead maintenance projects, coordinate and monitor maintenance personnel, and maintain standards.
• Supervise electrical power, compressed gases, water, HVAC, lighting, fire protection and other utility systems to ensure uninterrupted service.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, chemical or process engineering.
• 5‑7 years of technical experience in food manufacturing or consumer goods, including maintenance responsibilities.
• Experience in project engineering, plant design and construction, and industrial energy management.
• Knowledge of food‑processing technology, safety regulations and hygienic engineering.

Required skills

• MS Office and MS Project
• AutoCAD (view) or Visio
• CDM, AMM, ESAT, CIAT, NEMT, NEST tools
• Understanding of electricity, control and automation systems
• Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) concepts
