Family Lawyer – Scarborough (In-Person)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Family Lawyer to join our Scarborough office. You will manage a caseload of 50–60 active Legal Aid Ontario files, guiding clients from intake through resolution while working closely with senior practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Handle case conferences, settlement conferences, motions and related family law proceedings.
• Draft court submissions, provide legal advice, and represent clients in court and mediation.
• Maintain and progress multiple files independently from intake to final resolution.

Required profile

• Called to the bar of the Law Society of Ontario by June 2026 and in good standing.
• Legal Aid Ontario empanelled (preferred; mentorship available if not).
• Strong family law background covering divorce, custody, support, and property division.
• Courtroom experience with case and settlement conferences and motions.
• Excellent legal writing, research, oral advocacy, negotiation and mediation skills.
• Full G driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for court travel.
