Family and Estates Lawyer (Part‑time)

About the role
Toronto Advocates is seeking a part‑time Family and Estates Lawyer to join its North York office. You will provide legal counsel and representation in family law and estate matters, working within a fast‑paced environment that demands precision and strong client focus.
Key responsibilities
- Represent clients before courts, tribunals and boards.
- Draft legal documents, opinions and settlement agreements.
- Negotiate civil dispute settlements and offer mediation, conciliation and arbitration services.
- Conduct legal research, gather evidence and stay current on precedents.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of relevant legal experience.
- Membership in the Canadian Bar Association and a provincial law society.
- Eligibility for professional liability insurance and a clean criminal record.
- Excellent oral and written communication, high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word and MS Project.
- Experience using MAC operating systems and Sage Accounting Software.
- Pega Certified Professional.
