About the role

The Association of Ontario Midwives Benefits Trust (AOMBT) is looking for an Executive Director to provide senior operational leadership, support the Board of Trustees, and guide the Trust through its next stage of organizational development. The role oversees health, wellness, and retirement benefits for more than 1,000 midwives across Ontario.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day‑to‑day operational leadership for the Trust.
  • Support the Board of Trustees in governance, fiduciary duties, risk oversight and policy development.
  • Oversee financial management including budgeting, audits, investment/reserve oversight and benefits administration.
  • Manage vendor contracts and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead staff, human‑resources functions, program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with members, partners, service providers and advisors.
  • Communicate complex benefits, governance and financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Required profile

  • Commitment to reconciliation, equity and good governance, demonstrated in practice.
  • Relevant university degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent combination of education and senior leadership experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive senior management experience in a benefits trust, pension, nonprofit, association or similar environment.
  • Experience working with or reporting to a board/trustees, supporting effective governance and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Strong financial literacy with experience in budgets, audits, investment oversight and benefits administration.
  • Proven ability to lead staff, manage HR functions and drive organizational improvement.
  • Willingness to learn about midwifery, Indigenous sovereignty and health equity.
