Event Coordinator – Full‑time Permanent Role

About the role

TCU Place is seeking a dedicated Event Coordinator to join its events team on a permanent, full‑time basis. Reporting to the Events Manager, you will act as the primary liaison between clients, promoters and internal staff to ensure every event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of events, including setup, audiovisual, food & beverage, contracted services and labour.
• Maintain accurate event files, communicate requirements via the event booking system, and prepare final invoices.
• Respond to client enquiries, provide cost estimates, and manage rental rates.
• Organise and attend technical meetings with facility staff and external contractors.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels, conduct site tours for clients, and attend events as needed.
• Make informed credit decisions and follow up on past‑due accounts.

Required profile

• Graduation from a recognized two‑year post‑secondary hotel and restaurant administration program.
• Minimum two years of customer‑oriented hospitality experience in a convention hotel, conference centre or similar venue.
• Professional certification such as Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) is an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and pass a criminal record check.
