About the role
The Manitoba Government’s Environment and Climate Change department is seeking an Environmental Enforcement Specialist to support compliance and enforcement of provincial environmental legislation. This full‑time position can be based in Winnipeg or other rural or urban locations across Manitoba.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance, oversight, and support for investigations, compliance reviews, and enforcement actions across all program areas.
- Assist the Issue Manager in developing and proposing legislative changes and participating in amendment discussions.
- Support management on complex or sensitive environmental issues.
- Collaborate with Environmental Compliance and Enforcement staff to ensure consistent application of environmental statutes.
Required profile
- Qualified individual with knowledge of provincial environmental legislation and enforcement processes.
- Ability to analyze complex regulatory matters and propose legislative improvements.
- Strong communication skills for reporting to managers and interacting with stakeholders.
